Description:

Growth form: Perennial herb. Flowering. Mar–Apr. Status: Native. Local. Also recorded: Bahrain, Kuwait, E Saudi Arabia, UAE. Habitat & distribution: Occasional in S, W and C Qatar on sandy soils. Uses: El Amin remarks that the plant is ‘not liked’ as grazing, and that the ‘bedouin use it to cure scorpion stings’. Ghazanfar mentions the leaves are used to ‘strengthen back muscles after childbirth, for chest pains, flatulence and stomach problems.
