Al Reem Reserve



Description:


The reserve lies in northwest Qatar, 65 kilometers from Doha, on the western coast. It was established in line with Law No. 7 of 2005. It covers around 16 percent of Qatar’s total land area and has distinctive calcareous formations alongside the western coast. Brouq is considered one of the best regions to resettle wild species such as gazelles and ostriches. The reserve, which has verdant areas, is recognized under UNESCO’s Man and the Biosphere Program. With its dense vegetation, the reserve is of special importance for the people of Qatar.
